The Referee noticed nearly every foul that was committed during the game and followed his decision by the correct action. He correctly awarded a penalty to Arsenal and then order a retake when a foul was committed. All other fouls were noticed and acted upon

Positioning

The referee took up very good positions which helped with decisions. The assistants worked very well with the referee to make sure that no fouls went unmissed. He took an excellent position during the penalty which allowed him to see that the foul was commited which allowed him to order a retake of the penalty and disallow the goal that just got scored via the penalty 

Man Management

The referee had very good man management skills which was used to reduce the amount of cautions that were used during the game. He often explained his decision when players were unsure and would use good hand signals to indicate what decision was made. 

Card Issuing

All of the cards that were issued during the match were correct. The first card was given to Arsenal in the 23rd minute during a corner kick. The second card was given to Arsenal player for pushing everton players during the penalty which was retaken. The final card was given in the 68 match to everton for a reckless foul

The Referee had a very good level of fitness which helped to aid his decision making

Comment...

Both referees did very well during the game and did not make any mistakes. They were not directly involved in the game and therefore they wasn't under the spot light. They correctly spotted a good offside in the 79th minute.
